If our son doesn't make his HS team can he play LCYO?

Players going out for their local High School (HS) teams that want LCYO Pony as a fallback position still need to register in advance, pay their fees, AND undergo player evaluations in January. If they make the HS team, they will not be eligible for Pony rec ball and will be refunded their registration fees. The main reason for this is that it helps a lot to track those players who may or may not be available once HS teams form so we can plan where they might go on our rosters.

If your son falls in this category, register and email the Pony Division Director, ponydirector@lcyo.org, and we'll keep a list of registered players who are going out for their HS teams and will keep them out of the general draft. If they do not make their HS teams, we will either have a supplementary draft for these kids or we'll place them in the fairest manner possible. Registering your son in advance also helps guarantee a roster spot if they don't make the HS team.

For those who don't register in advance and unfortunately find out their sons did not make their HS team, we will try to accommodate these kids as well by hopefully finding them a spot on a team. However, in the Spring of 2009 we had to turn away three players because they did not register in advance and we simply were at capacity on all teams.
